What started as a small hair salon in 1985 under the nameSalon La Freek,through the last 35 years, Salon 500 has become a beacon in the hair care industry. It has grown into one of South Africa's top wholesale and retail outlets for professional hair products, providing one of the most extensive range of brands across the country.

What are the shipping options?

🚚 Delivery & Collection Policy

At Salon 500, we understand how important it is for you to receive your order quickly and reliably. We aim to process and dispatch all orders within 24 hours of payment confirmation.

Delivery Timeframes

  • Major Centres (via courier): 1–3 working days
  • Regional Areas: 2–5 working days

Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on courier schedules, location, and external factors beyond our control.

Delivery Fees

  • Free delivery for all orders over R350
  • A R75 delivery fee applies to orders under R350

Please note: Gift cards do not count toward the R350 minimum for free delivery.

Express Delivery

  • For same-day dispatch, please place your order before 9am.
  • Our Express Delivery service ensures your parcel arrives within 24–48 hours.

Orders placed on Fridays or the day before a public holiday may take up to 72 hours to arrive, as couriers do not operate over weekends or public holidays.

In-Store Collection (Durban)

If you’re located in or around Durban, you’re welcome to collect your order in-store at no additional cost.
We’ll notify you as soon as your order is ready for collection.

Order Confirmation & Tracking

Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive an email or SMS confirmation with your tracking details, allowing you to follow your delivery every step of the way.

Damaged or Missing Items

If your parcel arrives damaged or an item is missing, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order. Our team will assist you promptly to resolve the issue.

Delivery Address Accuracy

Please ensure that your delivery address and contact information are correct at checkout.
Salon 500 cannot be held responsible for delays or losses caused by incorrect or incomplete delivery details.

Remote & Outlying Areas

Deliveries to remote or outlying areas may take a little longer or require a small surcharge.
If this applies to your order, we’ll contact you before dispatch to confirm the details.

Please bear in mind that during the busy Black Friday and festive season, there will be unavoidable delays with deliveries.

What is the returns policy?

🔁 Returns & Refund Policy

At Salon 500, your satisfaction is our top priority. We want you to love every product you purchase from us. However, if you’re not completely happy with your order, you may return it to us under the conditions outlined below.

1. Return Eligibility

  • Returns must be made within 7 days of delivery.
  • Products must be unused, unopened, and in their original, re-saleable condition.
  • All tamper seals, labels, and original packaging must remain intact.
  • Due to hygiene regulations, opened or used products cannot be returned.
  • Brushes, cosmetics, hair care, and skincare products are non-returnable once opened, unless defective.
  • Gift cards, promotional items, and sale items are non-returnable and non-refundable.

2. Proof of Purchase

To process any return or exchange, a valid proof of purchase (such as your order confirmation email or invoice) is required.

3. Return Authorization

All returns must be pre-approved by Salon 500.
Please contact our customer service team before sending back any items to obtain return authorization and instructions.

Unauthorized returns may be rejected or sent back at the customer’s expense.

4. Defective or Incorrect Items

If you receive a product that is defective, damaged, or incorrect, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery.
We will gladly arrange an exchange, replacement, or credit, depending on stock availability.

5. Return Shipping

  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is defective or sent in error.
  • The item remains your responsibility until it reaches us, so we recommend using a tracked courier service.

6. Refunds or Store Credit

  • We offer a 7-day exchange policy from the date of purchase. Products must be returned to our store in their original, unopened packaging and at your own cost.
  • Once the returned items have been inspected and approved, an exchange will be processed. Please note that a 20% handling fee may apply if the product has been opened or used.
  • If you are exchanging for a different product, a delivery fee of R75 will apply for couriering the replacement items to you. Alternatively, we may issue a discount code equal to the value of the returned product.

7. Inspection & Rejection Clause

All returned items will be inspected upon arrival.
If a product is found to have been used, damaged, or tampered with, it will be returned to the customer at their own cost, and no refund or credit will be issued.

8. Out-of-Stock Replacements

If a replacement product is unavailable, we will offer a store credit or alternative product of equal value.

9. Final Disclaimer

Salon 500 reserves the right to decline a return or refund if the returned product does not meet the above conditions or if it shows signs of use inconsistent with normal handling.
